| Anderson Road, Wilpshire - Upstairs
Bathroom We were invited to tender for a number and
variety of jobs by this client. In all the works including 2
bathrooms, new central heating boiler, new uPVC window including
creating the opening and re-plastering around half of the house.
This particular piece of work was to update the upstairs bathroom
which was full of hidden surprises!
The specification for the room was not that different to the
original room, mainly just an update but included the addition of a
heated towel rail.
The room is simple yet stylish and elegant due to the clean lines
and quality of suite which our client chose.
AWI helped design & specify, supplied & installed this bathroom.
From start to finish the job included:
- Removal of the existing suite, wall & floor
covering
- Studding out across the window wall to add depth
to the wall (which was an outside wall) to allow for proper
insulation of the wall and to give a tiled cill to the window
- Ceiling lowered then boarded, skimmed and painted with 3 coats
kitchen/bathroom paint
- Floor joists re-inforced - the existing floor
joists were only 4*2"/100*50mm which gave a greate deal of bounce to
the whole structure - the joists were laminated with additional
timber which was let into the supporting walls and then glued and
bolted to the existing joists
- Installation of a new door frame, moved up the
wall whilst reducing the size of the door to 27" to allow a larger
shower enclosure to be installed
- Walls fully tiled
- Floor fully tiled
- Installation of the new bathroom suite including
thermostatic bar mixer shower, shower enclosure, towel rail, wall hung basin
and WC
