This client contacted AWI with a view to converting their large rear bedroom which was no longer required into a new main central bathroom.  They already had a shower room and a separate bathroom but felt it would make better use of the space to combine the two functions into one, leaving a cloakroom toilet in place of the shower room and later allowing them to convert the old bathroom into a larger space as part of a kitchen renovation (the room was adjoining).

The room is a massive 2.7 * 3.2m (9 * 10.5' approx) and gave options for a large shower, large free standing bath, vanity units and still leaves an nice open feeling room.

Following successful installation of this new bathroom, AWI de-commissioned the old main bathroom in readiness for the kitchen work to go ahead.

AWI designed, helped to specify, supplied and installed this bathroom.

From start to finish the job included:

• Preparation of the walls including re-dry-lining
• Provision of hot/cold water supplies, central heating and waste facilities
• Re-hanging of the door on the opposite side so it opens to the left rather than the right (when looking from the outside)
• Installation of PVC ceiling cladding
• Installation of a 6 * IPx4 mains voltage halogen down-lighters
• Re-wiring including installation of a new RCD protected circuit to provide power to the under-floor heating; addition of a new RCD protected high power shower circuit
• Walls fully tiled (ceramic tiles) including contrasting feature tiling within the shower area
• Floor fully tiled (large format brick-bond pattern porcelain tiles) including installation of Warmup under-floor heating system
• Installation of the new bathroom suite including 1800 * 900mm free-standing bath, Matki 900mm pentagonal shower enclosure with Triton Aspirante remote-pack electric shower (the main part of the shower "the white box" is located remotely in the loft space leaving an elegant appearance within the shower), Utopia furniture wash station, Utopia tall corner units including one drawer and one none-drawer unit, back-to-wall style WC (no pipework behind is visible from the side), tall chrome towel rail
