| Entwistle Road, Accrington - Wet Room
An elderly client was struggling to use the bath given the height of
the sides and the problems that can cause with age.
Her daughter and son-in-law asked us in to provide a quote after
coming across our details and we suggested fitting a level access
wet room.
Whilst most of our wet-rooms are decorative with tiled floors,
this job was based around non-slip commercial grade Polyflor
flooring which looks decorative but completely removes the ability
to slip which can still be a risk with a tiled floor.
We suggested a folding shower seat which can be used as and when
required and a number of grab handles aimed to aid showering.
A raised height WC means that the WC is easier to get on and off now
and lastly a new basin and towel radiator to finish things off.
The use of domestic bathroom items like the Merlyn glass wet room
divider coupled with commercial products like Polyflor help to make
this room very practical whilst maintaining an air of style and
prevent it from looking like a commercial wet room as found in
hospitals and care homes.
AWI designed, specified, supplied & installed this bathroom.
From start to finish the job included:
- Removal of the existing suite, wall & floor
covering
- Re-plumbing including cutting into the floor to
conceal the shower tray waste and cutting into the walls to conceal
the supply pipe-work
- Walls plaster-boarded ready for tiling
- Installation of white gloss PVC panelling on the
ceiling
- Installation of new low energy long life central
IPX4 light fitting
- Walls fully tiled (ceramic tiles)
- Polyfloor Hydro Polyvinyl flooring installed

shower, wet-room divider, WC, basin and towel rail
