| Larkspur Close, Blackburn - Main Bathroom
A recommendation from a recent customer of ours (see
here for more information) had prompted
this customer to begin a long over-due bathroom renovation they had
planned for a while.
Only a small room, the customer was concious that little could be
done to reduce clutter and make the room feel bigger but we had
other ideas. The first change we suggested was to re-hang the
door on the opposite side so that it does not obstruct half of the
room as they do when they open into the middle. Secondly we
suggested concealing the WC cistern and basin into a line of vanity
units which would add some much needed storage without stealing
space from the room.
We decided to re-use the old shower as it had not long since been
installed but some parts were missing like the collar - our customer
managed to find replacement parts and now the shower looks like new
(with the help of a new hose).
The walls were fully tiled in a large and bright white tile to
lift the room and the flooring will be fit at a later date - we
installed a new sheet of hardboard to give a good surface to lay on.
AWI designed, specified, supplied and installed this bathroom.
From start to finish the job included:
- Removal of the existing suite, wall & floor
covering
- Re-hanging of the door on the opposite side so
that the door does not open "into" the room - this creates a feeling
of greater space because the door does not obstruct entry
- Cladding of the ceiling with white high gloss PVC
panelling
- Re-plumbing to support the new layout
- Walls fully tiled (ceramic tiles)
- Installation of the new bathroom suite including
bath, shower screen, vanity units including
basin and WC
