Bathroom Having already completed the en-suite bathroom
(see here for more
information), we continued our renovations this time tackling the
main bathroom.
Our brief this time - plenty of storage, a son-proof showering
solution (it was implied that sometimes water got everywhere during
showers) and a fresh new look. Oh, and an all singing, all
dancing bath to finish off....
Despite the vanity units and larger bath, this room now feels
larger and more open due to the re-arranging of the WC and basin
while the double screened P-shaped shower bath provides a large
900mm diameter showering area with the resilience of a shower
enclosure like screen and door.
Despite the pictures appearance (our flash was not working
properly - someone left the flash switched on in their bag and the
batteries went flat...ahem) the room is very bright with the
polished black ceiling, all-white gloss walls and black floor adding
the necessary touch of style to complete this room.
AWI designed, specified, supplied and installed this bathroom.
From start to finish the job included:
- Removal of the existing bathroom suite, wall and floor
coverings
- Preparation of the walls including re-dry-lining
- Installation of PVC ceiling
cladding
- Installation of a 4 * IPx4 mains voltage halogen
down-lighters
- Installation of a chrome effect extractor fan
with remote motor located in the loft, ducted outside
- Re-wiring including installation of a new RCD
protected circuit to provide power
to the whirlpool & air-spa bath
- Installation of vanity units
as depicted including re-plumbing as required
- Walls fully tiled (ceramic tiles)
- Floor fully tiled (porcelain tiles) including installation of Warmup under-floor heating system
- Installation of the new bathroom suite including
P-Shaped shower bath with double screens creating a complete
enclosure and 8-jet whirlpool/12-jet airspa fitted, original
thermostatic mixer shower with new riser rail featuring fixed deluge
head and moveable riser handset, semi-recessed basin, concealed cistern WC and heated towel rail
