| Soughers Lane, Wigan - Main Bathroom
An old and tired bathroom had driven our customer to decide to
change it - they wanted a new look and hopefully a new shower.
They had always wanted a separate shower but didn't think that
the room was large enough. We suggested moving everything
around, putting an offset quadrant shower enclosure in the old bath
corner, moving the WC to the center of the room between the bath and
shower, building in the sides of the whirlpool bath and using some
clever boxing in and tiling managed to conceal all pipes where they
couldn't be sunk into the walls or under the floor.
We and our customer are really pleased with the room - despite
there being a separate shower enclosure, the room doesn't feel
cramped in the least and the new layout makes everything functional
and balanced.
AWI designed, supplied, specified and installed this bathroom.
From start to finish the job included:
- Removal of the existing suite, wall & floor
covering
- Re-hanging of the door on the opposite side so
that the door does not open "into" the room - this creates a feeling
of greater space because the door does not obstruct entry
- Re-plumbing to support the new layout including
soil stack alterations
- Walls fully tiled (porcelain tiles)
- Floor fully tiled (porcelain tiles)
- Installation of the new bathroom suite including
whirlpool bath, WC, shower enclosure with fixed head/riser rail,
basin with pedestal
