Having already attempted the previous bathroom by himself, our client was banned from trying again given that the shower was a dual floor installation - when you showered in the bathroom, those below in the kitchen could get a secondary shower!

Our client wanted to convert to a full and properly built wet-room and as such asked us to provide a quote.  The old shower was located in a similar place to the new one with the WC being in front (waste pipes travelled under the old shower base) and the basin well - who knows (the room had no lights hence the lack of before pictures!).

Having selected their suite, we set about designing a room and proposed moving the WC and basin around the building which would leave a large spacious wet area to the rear.  Despite the room being a long thin room we think you will agree this layout really works and opens the room up.

Along the way, the job grew and we were asked to skim and paint the ceiling, upgrade the shower circuit to allow a bigger electric shower than previously installed and add under-tile heating.  Our client was so pleased with the work that we have done that we have been invited back to quote for other works which adds to our reputation.

From start to finish the job included:

• Removal of the existing suite, wall & floor covering
• Construction of a new stud wall at the rear (the old walls were rough stone which meant that plaster-boarding without a frame was impossible)
• Plastering and painting of the ceiling
• Installation of 6 spotlights and a new ceiling pull cord
• Upgrading of the shower electrical circuit to cope with the new high power shower
• Construction of the wet area including tanking ready for tiling
• Plaster-boarding of the walls in readiness for tiling including use of insulated boards on the external walls
• Walls fully tiled (porcelain tiles)
• Floor fully tiled (porcelain tiles) including installation of Warmup under-tile heating system
• Installation of the new bathroom suite including shower divider in the wet area with electric thermostatic shower, WC & wall hung basin
