| Waltham Close, Baxenden - Main
Bathroom An elderly lady (though still full of life and
spirit!) was struggling to use the large corner bath to shower in
due to the height of the edge and problems getting in and out
safely.
We were asked to remove the bath, replacing it with a large
shower enclosure to which we suggested adding a folding seat for
comfort.
We also suggested a new back to wall WC (no pipes on show or
awkward places to clean) with an increased pan height of 450mm
(standard WCs are 400mm approximately) which would make using the
toilet much easier to use and maintain and lastly the clean look of
a wall hung basin.
We re-used the shower which is an Aqualisa Digital model and also
the towel radiator which had only been fit a couple of years ago.
Lastly the whole room was re-tiled (including the floor inside
the cupboard) to give a fresh new look.
AWI designed, specified, supplied & installed this bathroom.
From start to finish the job included:
- Removal of the existing suite, wall & floor
covering
- Painting of the ceiling
- Plaster-boarding in readiness for tiling
- Re-plumbing to allow for the new shower tray
including boxing in of the waste pipe and subsequent tiling
- Walls fully tiled (ceramic tiles with stone
border)
- Floor fully tiled (porcelain tiles)
- Installation of the new bathroom suite including
large Merlyn shower enclosure with original Aqualisa Digital thermostatic shower,
wall hung basin
with semi-pedestal & towel radiator
